internet browsing

I Know the photo is bad, but it is kind of exciting finding info about your family…I actually don't really know why I want to share this today. The Johnston Family hasn't really ever taken me under their wing. One of the last engendering things I remember my grandmother tell me was to mix white with blue to make clouds, she is an amazing painter and that was her advice to me in kindergarten .
The wisdom has not been as grand since age 5.

Well this is John Senior, I think he was a wild man, golfing around the country while my grandmother whom grew up in the rough North of BC raised 4 boys. (her sister gave birth to a beautiful words-smith…Patrick Lane.)

I will scan the photo's I have stored away of the old Nelson Hotel that she grew up in.

They are not married today, however my grandfather visits ole Betty everyday in the hospital where she currently resides due to her stroke from last spring. She is still amazing and strong and I look for her spark when I try to visit. It is a spark hidden by paralysis and I think sadness, the glow is not quite the same in her eyes. However, she is amazing still and so is Johns sr. they are funny and witty and am happy to call them family!

Just browsing around the web…found an article of my Grandfather, he was quite the jet setter…

celebrate the Tiger when you don't have a Valentine…

Year of the tiger, what do you do when you are a rabbit?

When you don't have a valentine,
(and as my 4 year old daughter reminded me "cupid is gone now Mummy, you will have to wait till next year for an arrow")
You find other things to focus your attention on. Conveniently it is the lunar new year and so I went to our tiny China Town here in Victoria. Year of the Tiger, lets hope there will be lots of great things to come in this new year.
